WAM!NET Enterprise Access

It is possible to have one WAM!NET Direct! or WAM!NET Direct! IP service appear to the Exchange as multiple WAM!NET sites within the Savvis Content Exchange. This can be important in instances where an organisation has a number of trading brands or entities.

It is also useful for organisations that have multiple locations but have invested in a Wide Area Network (WAN) and thus don’t need multiple Direct! or Direct!IP sites but the appearance of a WAM!NET site (destination) for each physical location. For example, an operation with a WAN that has offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne that wishes to have one WAM!NET destination for each.

In these circumstances, WAM!NET transport users would likely not choose multiple subscriptions and the associated costs.

There could also be a situation in which larger organisations with multiple departments want to split the access to their WAM!NET Direct! or WAM!NET Direct! IP service between various departments.

To meet this need, Savvis offers WAM!NET Enterprise Access. This service can be enabled on any of the WAM!NET Direct! Services.

There are no additional charges for this service. However, as this is an add on to the Direct! or Direct! IP Appliances, it is important to note that these appliances come at additional subscription charges.
