WAM!NET Launches Low Cost Service

For many years the Australasian print and publishing industry have recognised WAM!NET transport services as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of content management services, but felt it to be outside of their budget.

To address this, Savvis has launched a new bundled offering that provides all of the functionality that printers need but without the need to install a server, thus lowering the costs by more than 75%.

WAM!NET Virtual Purple Box - What is it?

The WAM!NET Virtual Purple Box is just like having a full WAM!NET transport subscription but without needing to install a server (Purple Box) and thus pay the associated costs. Here’s how it works:

Each customer receives access to a Virtual Purple Box account on WAM!NET and can use that account to receive files from existing WAM!NET users and/or their own clients.

Additionally, each customer can distribute an unlimited number of the sought after WAM!NET Submission Icons to their Customers. Putting your brand on your clients desktops for easy drag and drop sending.

Finally, web based guests accounts are included in the bundle, providing your customers with all the WAM!NET file transfer options:

• Drag and drop icon on desktop - one way send from them to you
• Guest access using WAM!NET website - one way send from them to you
• Direct to and from any other existing WAM!NET user (Purple Box to Purple Box - virtual or otherwise!)
• To and from you using WAM!NET Internet Gateway, the online service ideal for sending artwork back to your customers.
• All included in a new low cost monthly subscription

Costs

A$1,000.00 set up and A$300 per month, includes telephone training and your own Custom Icon customisation.

What is the difference between a WAM!NET Purple Box subscription and the Virtual Purple Box bundle?

The Virtual service means your subscribers interact with the WAM!NET service completely over the internet, no hardware is actually installed on your premises as is the case with a WAM!NET Direct! or Direct! IP subscription.

An unlimited amount of WAM!NET Submission Icons can be distributed to your customer base allowing your logo to be placed on the desktops of your customers, allowing them to transfer artwork by dragging files onto the desktop icon.

A maximum of four two way WAM!NET Internet Gateway accounts are included in the Virtual Subscription Bundle so customers who need more should consider the WAM!NET Direct! IP service rather than this new lower cost bundle.

By combining unlimited icons, a Virtual Purple Box, four dedicated IG accounts and the ability to receive content via a branded website from guest users, this new WAM!NET transport bundle meets the needs of more than 90% of the print industry meaning higher level subscriptions such as Direct! and Direct! IP are only needed by a few and usually those larger players that have the budgets to afford the additional benefits.

For a small fee, you can have your own branded WAM!NET website. And, why have standard WAM!NET email notifications when you could tailor each email that is sent automatically using our own Quay NOTIFY service.
