Quay NOTIFY

All of the WAM!NET services have the ability to use automated email notifications to advise people of certain things.

For example, a WAM!NET transport subscriber who has a WAM!NET Direct! IP server on their network and has 50 hosted Internet Gateway accounts, because they have 50 clients, has the ability to enter an email address for each client so that when files are received from any one client, that client will be automatically notified by email, along with anyone else that needs to know.

The email notification is a standard text based email that comes from Savvis and cannot be modified by WAM!NET subscribers.

This is unfortunate as many Australian WAM!NET users have paid for their services to be rebranded (see Customised WAM!NET Appearances to the right for more).

Savvis has committed to providing the ability to customise email notifications but as yet not provided details as to when this will be offered.

The interim solution: Quay NOTIFY

Quay NOTIFY was developed by the technical team at Digital Quay as a workaround initially for a handful of customers.

Now, we offer this solution to WAM!NET users worldwide!

How does it work?

WAM!NET Administrator users are familiar with using what’s called “Info Center” to set up and manage their users. Part of the process involves entering an email address for the various notification types desired.

Quay NOTIFY is used to provide an address that the WAM!NET administrator enters into WAM!NET Info Center. This means an email is still sent but it is sent not to the end user but to our notification engine which matches the email address with an email that has been custom written to forward to the end user.

So, your customers don’t receive generic emails from Savvis but a tailored email notification from you which may include links and other information that would otherwise not be included.

Further, the notification can be an SMS rather than an email. This is great in high pressure deadline environments.

Costs

$250 set up and $49.95 per month. Credit card only or pay in advance for one year by cheque or EFT - $849.40.

There is a 12 month minimum commitment.

Pricing is charged in AUD and GST is charged to Australian customers.

An unlimited amount of email notifications may be sent but SMS notifications are charged at AUD 0.20 per message sent.

How to subscribe?

An online order form for Quay NOTIFY will be available soon. In the interim, please call or email us so that an Order Confirmation Form and instructions can be provided.
